It does sound strange and there appears to be no benefit to you from completing these forms. You have complied with everything required under the IVA and as such should demand your certificate. These claims can take a long time and I do not see how your IVA can be successfully completed while potential litigation is still in place.

If your IP is prepared to give you the certificate and pay you a percentage of any post IVA PPI settlement, it may then be in your interest but I cannot see how they would agree to this so tell them to shut the IVA down.

Very well constructed and this was on my mind. Why would I be here stressing abt filling in the PPI claims and getting nothing in return. Even if they had offered 50% to creditors, 25% for their time and sent the other 25% my way.... I would have said its a deal as there was no mention about PPI miselling in my proposal and there was no modification to this effect.
I have worked myself up about this, so I will endeavour to draft an appropriate e.mail/letter to the IP's Office.

Surprising, no one else have heard of this so may be I will have to ask for documentary evidence that this is a new rule.

Thanks

If you find out where this "rule" has come from, we would all be very interested !
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014

Cheryl, glad to have been of assistance.

I think we'd all like to know about this new 'rule', especially as Andy and Michael haven't heard of it. It would be good if the other experts could give us their spin on this.

I know you don't want to name and shame but I think we need warning if it is one of the bigger companies than many of us may be with.
Please reconsider your refusal about saying the name of the company as they might do this on other people and they will at least be warned it could happen.

Hi
What is to stop you claiming this once your IVA is closed and off the insolvency register ?
At least you will then benefit directly

Agree with Andy. I don't think this has anything to do with your IVA and you should be able to claim directly.

The IP firm and all of us are assuming the PPI was mis-sold. This may well not be the case. It is a valid product much like any other insurance we pay for and hope never to need. Some people will have experienced poor sales practices but not all.

That's very true. Some people have benefited from PPI payouts.

I only ever signed up to one when I took out my secured loan with Black Horse and I cancelled it shortly afterwards realising that I was unlikely to need it as I get full pay if off sick, and at the time redundancies within the police were unheard of.

Thanks for all the support especially from the Admin Team and Forum Exports.
Knowing what I know now, these policies were mis sold. I am heading to the shops to get a shredder.

Funny enough, I also had two credit cards with balances of abt £800 and £750 with PPI, no claim form was sent out for these but for the others with balances of over £2000.. oh yes, the claim forms are here. Am I missing something here.

I would tell the iva firm you are not interested in them applying for the ppi refunds-then it is your decision as to whether you go ahead with the claims.
I personally would be glad the iva has been paid off and be running off into the sunset-eric morecambe style !!!
