These are the replies I had from EIC and GT from my original emails (This is before the one I sent yesterday)

EIC - 19 January 2015
I can confirm that your Case is now Closed with Expert Insolvency Claims and has been passed back to Grant Thornton.

GT - 2 February 2015
Unfortunately, at this stage EIC have not signed off any cases as having all PPI investigated and whilst it may be the case at their end, we are not in a position to complete our final work until the case is formally handed back in that regard.

The conversation my colleague Deborah had with EIC in December confirmed that 1 claim remained outstanding and we have not received an update to the contrary. Please note that when the case is referred back to GT, we will be commence the process of distributing the monies and refunding the Statutory Interest element (Net of Costs)

As you can see it is impossible to know who is telling the truth!

Afternoon everyone! I also got the letter from GT, and am unable to send them any info, as every letter I had regarding PPI was sent straight to EIC! However, on Saturday, a letter arrived from EIC, dated 11th February, stating 'I write to inform you that Consumer Advisor Services Ltd has aquired Expert Insolvency Claims. As a result, Consumer Advisor Services will continue to manage your claims under the trading style Expert Insolvency Claims (EIC). Please note that all agreements in place with EIC still stand and will be honoured until completion.....' It goes on to say there are no changes to existing T & C. So, does this mean that Consumer Advisor Services Ltd have bought EIC, and this is the reason GT can't get any info off them?
All the best
lou :O)

Does it stated where Consumer Advisor Services Ltd are based or whether they are also known under another name?
IVA started March 2011, Completed March 2016 and certificate issued 11 days after final payment. It was not always easy but then some of the best decisions aren't.

Hi lifenoteasy :O) At the very bottom of the letter, in tiny print, it says that EIC is a trading name of Consumer Advisor Services Ltd. The registered office is Canterbury, Kent. It also says that if you have an existing complaint with EIC and remain dissatisfied with their response or you haven't heard from them after 8 weeks you can refer the handling of the complaint to the Legal Ombudsman, and gives their various addresses and phone number.
I've googled them (CAS) and can't find a website for them, although I've only looked on the first page of results.

Hi Sharon :O) That seems a bit odd for you to get the letter, beens as you have your CC! I would have thought they would have no reason to get in touch with you! Did you get your certificate even though the PPI hadn't been sorted?

Well seems like good news finally. After lots of complaining and emails to GT, eventually stating that I was going to contact the regulators if a response wasn't received within 7 days.....GT have finalised my PPI claim and are apparently issuing a cheque for the stat interest in the next week. Still can't quite believe it might finally be resolved once and for all! It's a shame that the only way I have managed to get anything sorted with GT is after lots of complaining and persistence, but sadly it seems to be the only way. Will post when cheque received!

How did they let you know this?

I emailed my IP and whoever else had written to me re PPI from GT directly. Apparently it's a 10 day response time to emails via customer service, although my experience has been a lot longer. I don't think 10 working days is acceptable for a response to an email. I think they ve just sorted it out for me to make me go away! I have had to be really persistent but hopefully this will be the end of it all. I will feel better when I actually have the cheque!

There have been mixed messages regarding GT, PPI and interest of late. Some clients have been told that they will not get interest, some that they will, but no reports of any being paid as yet.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014

Ahhh, that is good news, foreverbroke! Back in December, when I had the phonecall to sort the variation for creditors to accept payments to date, the lady I spoke to said I had £180.00ish for the stat interest coming to me. Nice if it happens, eh?
