I think £4.95 to renew the card is quite good. Must admit that I've not used mine for a while now. I think they are excellent if you can't get any sort of debit card.

One other prepaid card which I use is the Utility Warehouse card (you have to use one of the UW services to qualify), you get 6months usage free, then it's £1/month per card, and 35p per top-up. You also get 5% cashback on a fair few retailers including Sainsburys which is then credited to your UW bill.
I have a Cashplus card and I find it very good, I put any surplus money I have in to this from my bank account and do this online.
then every now and again I take a peep and have a lovely suprise.
On that point in my account I have the opetion to transfer any surplus change from any payment to a dropdown savings account and I have managed to save even without thinking of it 300 pounds and all this happens automaticaly
Good idea Skip. I transfer any surplus across to Barclays and let it build up a little.

The LLoyds scheme is called "Save the Change", where each debit card transaction is rounded up to the nearest £1 and transferred to your savings account.
Unfortunately Lloyds is one of creditors so it's no good for me.
