With some you are fine but as others have pointed out, you don't have the same protection as with a proper credit card and they are not widely accepted abroad.

Glad it has worked out for you but I think I'll stick with my debit card and possibly think about a Vanquis card when O have completed.

Is it just me or does that cashplus site make it very hard to find out the actual fees you will pay??

I wouldn't want a card where I had to pay fees whilst I can get free banking.

Its a money wallet thing all linked to your mobile phone using nfc(near field communication)technology for cashless transactions, just swipe your phone and thats all and money will be banked with barclays(who took over egg who I owed lots too!!).

Details pretty sketchy just now,and o2 think it will be android and IOS so my blackberry may not work with it.

Pretty sure they could have continued with the cards alongside this space age technology!!!

It sounds like its very much tailored to those within the M25,they want it usable with oyster for the underground etc and want it up and running for the olympics etc etc etc.

Some of the country do exist outwith London!!!

I think they are trialling a similar system in Paris at the moment.

I see my new Paypal Pre-paid has "contactless technology" ... haven't a clue how or where to use it though !!!
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.

I hate the fact that we can have 4 feet of snow and 150mph winds up here but if it gets sleety in London it makes the national headlines!!!

Sorry for my anti London rant!!!

Loved living down near Newbury in Berkshire but hate being in London whenever I am down there.

Was there a report last year that took old mobile phones and were able to recover data that was supposed to be erased from them (pin numbers/bank account)It came to he conclusion that similar to your computer - only safe method is to destroy the equipment completed (hard drive /computer chips etc)
So i wonder whether we are lining up ourselves to some real security issues using this technology - then of course there is trying to prove to the bank it "was not you"
