I've just got a Visa Paypal Prepaid card, its cheaper to buy and if you've got a paypal account it cost nothing to load money.

Can also be loaded at P.O. and paypoint shops
Money is loaded after one business day which is far quicker than some cards

I've used it a number of times such as online purchases, petrol and shopping at places such as Asda and Tescos etc.

You can-not use it for hire a car or book hotels thou.

I like it but [8D]

I've got a Tuxedo Maestro. I use it quite a lot so I pay £4.99 a month for it, but they also have an option where you can pay each time you use the card.

Endsmeet,

I have a Paypal card and was able to book a Travelodge with it with no problems.
Carl.

If you think nobody cares whether you're alive or dead, try missing a couple of credit card payments!!!

It says in the Ts & Cs that it can't be used to book a hotel - it sounds as though you were lucky!

Cash Master plus mastercard....the best allround card.I have studies them all. Can load upto 15K upon futher id checks. It has purchase protection -incase you are ripped off by airline booking going bust- and Car Hire and can upload for free instantly at certain retailers. It beats the opposition!

You can choose not to have the recurrent 4.95 fee version and pay £1 for each transaction so use it for specials! I use a real mastro card from a bank most of the time in the UK an all rounder card in the UK....

Of course some lucky people held on to their visa debit cards in the IVAs as those accounts weren't made up of creditors.

I had to give my maestro card up but I got a visa electron with my new basic bank. I was also ungraded to a visa debit card in my cash card account. I used to use two pre pay cards but I dont need them now.

Freelili, I like to know about your upgrade of cashcard to visa debit....which Bank gave you this option....this is better than any blooming prepaid option.

There were certain events that happened that, I think, led to the upgrade but I really would rather not say here.

Yeh, I have done that also but it seems to be the more 'exclusive' hotels that you can-not use it, not the ones that are pre paid via the web

They require an authorisation from Paypal incase of extra charges that you may incur like the same as car hire companies do.

I have also noticed that when I use it at the petrol station it comes up with 'Visa Debit'

I've had a few of the prepaid cards, cashplus seems the best, can be used for car hire, booking hotels, also can be swiped at hotel to cover additional expenses. Also they've just reduced their atm withdrawl fees.
