Hi Folks

Just like to say thank you for all the help / advice given so far, such alot of effort off people for no price just kindness !!!

But I have another question. When reading questions and answers I mostly hear how hard it is and the problems people are having and how nervous people are with their reviews.

Doesn't entering an IVA make it alot easy and a massive weight lifted off your shoulders ??? I thought by entering an IVA it makes life more rosie and enjoyable with the money you save.

Is this not right or is the next 6 years going to be hell and my nerves shot when it comes to the year review ???

Your thoughts plse !
Cheers Al

Hi Alan. No .. we are just all born worriers :-)

Life in an IVA isn't a bed of roses ... but compared to all the juggling we used to do it is relative heaven!

Reviews are just like MOT's really ( or dental check ups) .. no real biggy, but we like to worry over them.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014

I agree with Foggy, I read quite a few posts about reviews that were really positive, but still worried over my first year review until I got nothing but positive feed back from my IP. It has been hard in the IVA but not even close to the hell that I was in when getting 20-30 phone calls a day before I entered the IVA.

I think that sometimes it's only the negatives we post about, our worries and troublesome times. However, in an IVA it can be rewarding, I enjoy the art of sticking to a budget and having a little bit of money left at the end of the month. I've had my times where I thought 'uh oh how am I going to cope' but I have a great IP who is very approachable and understanding and we work through things together to make them achieveable. I like the postman cycling past and not coming to my door, no more juggling bills at the month end, allowances for all my vital stuff. I won't tell you it's gonna be easy but it's definitely gonna be worth it. x
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

Hi
Once you set the ball rolling then you are on the way I was on cloud 9 when I was told I was accepted and can still feel my hand when I punched the inside of the Lift on the way back to work a massive release of stress Yearly reviews as long as you are doing what you are asked and your wages are the same then you have nothing to worry about
Try to not think about ir too much and treat it as a regular Bank payment for the next 5 years Your IVA is individual to you and they are there to support you and make things easier for you So any problems give them a call and let them put your mind at ease
Set yourself targets in the year 3 months ahead and then again and then you think wow half a year gone then you hit the first year Then again Second year then half way and the time will pass Just tough it out and stay strong and positive You had the guts to start it so finish the job and come out the other side :) Dont look back look forward and live your life as best you can and money is just paper and metal nothing more
take care

Totally agree - it sometimes difficult when you up to you neck in poo (or it feels that way)to have any sort of positive outlook.
IVA is hard work - but when you come out the other side and move on,a lot of other things in life seem more positive to.

(been there - got the Tshirt) :-)

The annual review process is just as much for your benefit as creditors, as it gives you the opportunity to adjust your income and expenditure to match your actual circumstances at the time.

Review time is nervy but rarely as bad as anyone thinks!! As Mel says it works both for the debtor and the creditor.
