procedure for setting up insolvency practice?

how do i set my own INsolvency practice up and give advise on IVA's. Whats the procedure.many thanks

Ooh, Brent, what a worthwhile job. I think once you have been an accountant for a certain amount of time (a long time!) then there are special exams you have to take for insolvency. I'm sure Melanie will be along shortly to tell you exactly. Good luck, Viki X

I have enough trouble coping with my own debts never mind starting a business helping other with theirs!!!!
Discharged today the 8th feb 2012. View is much brighter now.
Continuing to rebuild our credit worthiness.

Yes,you can clearly see how underworked Melanie is what with the amount of time she has spare on her hands to help out on this forum!!!!

I am still convinced she has a clone to do half her work!!!

A pretty large one to be honest. Firstly you will need to find employment in an IP practice, and then gain a number of hours experience in practical aspects of the job - not just IVAs, but in all aspects of insolvency both corporate and personal - at least five years is generally recommended.

Thereafter there are a number of pretty stiff examinations to pass as well. If you look at the R3 website there is a booklet you can download about the route to becoming an IP.
