I don't understand this SUC. Was today the original date for your creditors meeting, or had it been adjourned from an earlier date? You are allowed up to 14 days to reconsider creditor modifations - a lot longer than 4 hours! But if you are on the 14th day, then time has run out.

Are you going to represent the proposals? There is nothing to stop you appointing a different IP the second time around. Just today I was instructed by someone in the same boat as you, who was unhappy with their original presentation and wished to jump ship. It is something that I, and other IPs, are regularly asked to do I am sure.

Melanie, the original creditors meeting took place on 28th May, however with my wifes creditors failed to vote. Grant Thornton then called me yesterday at about 12pm to say they had voted but with some alterations to it, which I was not happy about. I was told I had to 5pm to make my mind up.

Then they are slightly wrong, in that you would have had to have made your mind up by 4pm that day and not 5pm. Have they been chasing the missing votes throughout the last two weeks?

When I did get through to them after the original creditor meeting, there answer was "we should hear soon". I wasn't aware of the 2 week deadline, but seemed strange on the last day 4-5 hours before the cut off there was a response, and a take it or leave it attitude.
Had enough of GT, now they are calling me back asking me what do I want to do and can they be of assistance. Reply was just send all my documentation etc back to me.

Just a follow on from my last dealings with GT. They have been telephoning me regularly saying that some of the information given to me was wrong and that I would not require the extra 12 months on my IVA
and that they could re-visit my case and push it through with more acceptable terms. Very strange. I did right a letter of complaint to Grant Thornton but no reply

I've read and read this forum before even starting the IVA process which is in the hands of the very same team at IVA Advice co.

I thought I'd never bother joining up and contributing but I feel prompted to by this thread. So far my experience with them has been they are very supportive, straight talking and professional, not to mention reassuring, very friendly and not at all judgemental.

I was, like many others I'm sure, ashamed of my debt problem and not being able to solve it myself. To have a supportive, understanding and sympathetic voice on the end of the phone is so very welcome!
One pay-cheque away from oblivion!

Hi Hubert and welcome to the forum

It is great to see you posting, and I am glad that you have chosen my firm to represent you. No doubt we will be having a chat personally in due course.
