Good luck from me as well.

Thank you all for your kind words, you can't imagine how much it helps to see us through this! Everything feels so uncertain at the moment and we don't feel we can turn to family and friends so this place is a godsend!

I know what you mean. You can talk away about debt problems to your hearts content on here. Non of my relatives (other than hubby and kids) know about our problems so it's great that you can offload on here.

I know everyone says here don't feel ashamed, but we do - we come from backgrounds where our families have paid their way and pretty much frowned at credit and those in debt, viewing it I suppose as greedy rather than living in your means. My partner's parents have never had a mortgage as they inherited the farm they live and work on, so they have an enirely different mindset on the matter. We have never tried to be greedy and were managing ok until my partner had a severe pay cut due to the current economic climate, which has left us in a very diffcult situation. Saying that, if we had never borrowed in the first place we wouldn't be in this situation!

We've all been there. My parents are the same, and would be mortified if they knew about our situation. They've never had a mortgage, nor borrowed. If they couldn't afford it,they didn't have it.

We all borrowed because the money was thrown at us. OK, we didn't need to accept it, but it was all spend, spend, spend then. You ar doing something about your debt, so you have nothing to be ashamed of.
