I can't understand why they would up your housekeeping allowance to such a large amount.

Speak to them Monday - they won't be fed up of you, that's what they are there for.

Don't give up yet - wait until you have seen whether a reduction in your housekeeping will mean that Northern Rock accept.

The guidelines i got from Nationaldebt line
are 270-338 for a couple
87 -152 for each child
108 - 152 for a non dep

So the £740 falls within this
Not sure if these are the guide lines used by IPS ?
I certainly can't cope on £460

I must admit that I've not heard of anyone being allowed that much for housekeeping.

You should put down exactly what you spend and then the IP will adjust that. Not known them adjust it up before though.

I think National Debtline are more generous than the other guidelines which CCCS recommened, however, they are just that - guidelines.

Your housekeeping budget should be based on what you actually spend. If your IP feels that the amounts quoted are excessive they will advise you of the industry guidelines which are used by creditors. I cannot see £740 being acceptable, so it will ne interesting to see what the poster actually does spend and the eventual outcome of the creditors meeting.

Don't give up Amanda, speak to Payplan. They won't be fed up with you as they are there to help you, and this is a query of their making.

Good luck and let us know how you get on x
