Hey all....

I just got off the phone to kingsgate/churchwood who want to arrange my IVA i told them what i thought of the proposal where they got some of my outgoings wrong like my rent their reply was "change it" sure if i did that then the proposal we put forward would then mess up.... Then i raised to them about my previous posting about including my bonus and they were like "we will call a variation meeting" fine ok.... then i raised my net point fees says quite clearly in the proposal/t&c £2500 arrangement fee inc in what i pay and £500 for every creditors meeting! Their comeback was thats to protect us incase i "defraud them" which im not going to do! then i was asked have i had any other reservations and im like yes i spoke to a couple of other people - not naming names to him tho! and said that they wouldnt put me forward incorporating my bonus or lloyds were being abit funny on the dividend payout then asked me have i been on this forum and i said yes all because im making a big commitment i want to know what im doing and have full knowledge etc before i commit then said the people who post on here talk rubbish and and all that and i got the impression he wasnt interested helping me more like trying to sell this product! Then had the scare tactic "what am i going to do if i dont do this" well i replied DMP hes response "for what 30 years" Im like no im moving it paying out more to the creditors no fees etc and i can slowly build myself via a DMP to the mark i needed for IVA! I then hung up!

What i dont understand is why do companies out there do this!? How im basing my decision on which is made up on what i find on here and what read from the experts who have many years of knowledge! If any of the experts read this can i ask is the IVA meant to be treated as if its a sale of some sort!?

Sorry about this but i needed to let it out this has really frustrated me today!!
Life is one big challenge so what are you going to give me today!?

Rant away CJ08 how can companies trade on other people's misfortune. Yes we know that IP have to earn a living and I for one have no problems with paying for a service but those charges are way and beyond fair.
Speak to one of IP who post on this forum for advice.

CJ, how dare he say we are rubbish! I don't think he likes the fact that some of our posters are now a lot more savvy when we go for our debt solutions.

I know it would be starting all over again, but could you not change to a different company?

Pint of lager for me please!

Payplan are who we are with for our IVA. If you do go DMP with them, they don't charge you anything.

Payplan dont charge fees, but i found them very difficult to make contact with, if you can set up a DMP with them and then not need to contact then very often, then yes there great but if your going to expect to be able to ring all the time and speak to someone then you might have trouble.

Thats only my personnal experience though.
Steve.

IVA approved!

currently with churchwood im paying £175 - £30 fee = £140 on approx 42k but payplan look at increasing it to £216 straight away thats £76 more to my creditors! and for the time being i can afford it and hopefully i can get an IVA once its reduced a little as i have got charges and interest frozen as well!! If it wasnt for this forum i wouldnt be so "clued up" on this!

What an interesting conversation, which I imagine was not held with the IP personally. Are you intending to continue your relationship with this firm? I would recommend a chat with Andrew Graveson of Brightoak, who runs a very reputable DMP company and ought to be able to help.

After that the next conversation will be here is my 2 weeks notice to cancel and ill cut my losses! Im awaiting a call tomorrow from payplan so before i commit to them you would reccommend me speaking to him!? One thing that did make me laugh in that conversation is "would i get my IVA from this forum?" thats like me saying to my clients to stop them getting their insurance from tesco or sainsbury "would you buy your food from me!?" every sales person has to find a way to plant a doubt in what the the customer is buying! Seriously Melanie should an IVA be treated like a product you buy!? If i wasnt so determined to get myself on an IVA at some point then this would of put me off!

Thanks for the pint CJ![:D]

Seriously, no one comes on here to 'get' an IVA, we come on here for advice on dealing with our financial problems.

Hopefully Paypal can sort you out, we have had no problems with them so far, but haven't needed to contact them as yet.

Give Andrew a call as well - it can't hurt.

Jan, just how strong was that pint....... Paypal [:D]

Glad you're getting things sorted CJ, wonder if the guy was on commission! They should be advising not selling and if they can't even get the basics right.......
