How long after bankruptcy did the trustee contact you for payment, I was made bankrupt 20 November , my ipa payments state they will start on or just after the 31st of December 07 and Clarke Wilmont will be in touch. No one has been in touch at all, I believe they will knock at my door to collect is this true?? or will I be able to pay by direct debit or standing order .

cheers Nicki [?]

We were made bankrupt in August, hubby is to have a Nil Tax IPA but has not started paying it yet. Not sure how they will collect it when it does start!

I was made BR in March and I made my first payment IPA at the end of June. No-one will come and collect the money from you, you get the option of standing order or debit card - I pay mine by standing order. The people at Clarke Willmott are lovely and nothing is too much trouble for them.

I actually phoned the OR and chased them to about the IPA - I knew I was getting one and I wanted it started sooner rather than later.

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is the present - a gift to make the most of.

Why not put the money into a savings account so it is there for when the OR gets round to chasing you? But if you know that the amount is £375 it is odd that no-one has told you to start paying.

I got my letter from the OR confirming the IPA amount in April last year, but didn't hear anything else until I chased for payment details.

I did exactly what Melanie suggested. As soon as my NIL tax code kicked in, I stuck this tax money into a savings account, toehter with the amount I knew my IPA was going to be. I went BR in September, and made my first payments in December.

Both the OR and Clarke Wilmott have been fine to deal with, and CM were also very flexible concerning the date to pay back each month etc.
