There is a great site for postage..not sure if I am allowed to put a link..but if you search for seajays and postage then you should find it...shows you at a glance the postage prices for your item wherever and however you send it.

I always send mine cheapest recorded, or international signed for if sending overseas.

Covers me if they say they haven't received it, and they can get their money back (no loss to me), if they genuinely haven't.

I offer 1st class standard or recorded but state that if they don't pay for recorded I'm not responsible if something is lost in the post. I won't post overseas.

Skippy, I'm afraid you ARE responsible for items lost in the post under eBay's rules - whether the buyer uses recorded or not.

I now make a point of not buying from sellers who have this clause in their terms and conditions - if I pay for something I expect it to arrive and if it doesn't then the seller needs to claim from Royal Mail using the proof of postage.

I always get a proof of postage from the Post Office and I will claim from the PO on their behalf.

To be honest, I think the few things I've got on Ebay at the moment will be the last things I sell on Ebay - I can't be bothered any more. I state I don't send overseas, so I get questions about postage to Poland and Norway - can't people read?!?!

I also think it's bad that sellers can't leave negative feedback for buyers - it shouldn't just work one way.

I think I'm a bit disillusioned really as I have had problems in the past and I think the fees are a rip off now.

Skip, I used to be a Power Seller and with all the changes they have implemented recently...well I have had enough and quit. I had 100% positive until sellers were no longer able to leave neutral or negative feedback...then the neutrals started coming..all of which were unfair such as 'thanks' or 'OK' - why leave me a neutral then!?!?! Argh! I had so many non paying bidders too and couldn't do a thing to warn other sellers. So unfair!
eBay rang me yesterday trying to tempt me back..I hung up on them!
eBid is pretty good if you have a few bits and bobs to sell.
As fo overseas, most of my sales were overseas -it really is worth doing, I never had any problems and have sold to Australia,Mexico, various States in the US, Denmark, Italy, France, Spain and many many more!

That's really interesting. I know that there was a lot of chat earlier this year about whether e-bays changes would impact on their business. Sounds like it might have done.

I think its wrong that negative feedback cant be left. The purpose of it is to prevent an unfair retaliation if you are left negative feeback, meaning you leave negative feedback just because they left it to you. This is fine but what happens if you do genuinly need to leave negative feedback?!? Ebay is getting stupid...
