Hi All

Melanie you may recall that we have instructed GT to act for our IVA in April - After some pushing I managed to get them to send the IVA proposal through which we returned two weeks ago - We didn't hear anything so I chased them last week to be told that they haven't received it! So I sent another copy by recorded delivery on Tuesday last week - We haven't heard anything from them at all (I have just emailed them tonight to check they have received it and when our creditors meeting will be. How much longer do you think we should leave it with them before withdrawing the case from them and going elsewhere? [:0]

The reason why we haven't withdrawn it yet is because it appears to be so close and are concerned if we have to wait all this length of time again. We have responded to everything on the nail!

I have the proposal on email and disc would this be of any assistance to another IP?

Our final concern is that we were told to stop paying creditors back in April?

Not sure what to do now?

Thanks for your help folks

This just seems to be the neverending story doesn't it! I cannot advise you to withdraw your case, neither can I advise you to stick with this any longer. It seems to be taking forever, and your case is not complex. If you feel that you are not getting good service from your IP, then it might be time to change - as you have to stay with the same firm for the next five years, and at least know that you are going to be looked after during that period

Another IP could probably put the proposal together for you relatively quickly, but you will need to ask for all of your paperwork to be returned so that they can do their work properly.

As always thanks very much Melanie - I don't know how long it would take them to return the papework though!

I'll try and give them a call today.

I am a little surprised, GT is slow but reputable. I am surprised that it is all taking such a long time.

My IVA was taking time I really had to phone them at least two or three times a week.

Who is the person that you are dealing with.I usually had at least two people that I could contact.

It is a pity that it is taking such a long time.

Hara.

I would recommend you pull out now, switch to Melanie (who is great, and got our IVA through in a matter of weeks from first call to meeting)
As previously said, five years is a long time to start off on the wrong foot!

I to went through exactly the same thoughts with GT, I got to the point where I was going to go Bankrupt because of the time it took, 21 weeks in total, I have had to do a lot of phoning and faxing to creditors, even after IVA accepted, to stop the calls. At times I did wonder what I was paying fees for. Saying that though my IVA was accepted (after the correct copy went out, so many corrections I had to practically re write it), no madifiactions, so I do have a manageable IVA. I know it's a nightmare waiting but the thing that put me off changing to another comapany was the thought of going through the whole process again. Things have been slow, but have persitent emails and calls I have mangaged to get my questions answered. I think it's probably worth hanging on for a few more weeks, I should imagine they are still very busy.

Thanks all for your support!

I finally got through today and have been advised that creditors meeting will be early September.

I just hope its worth the wait!

I really wish that I had found this site before - If I had I would deff gone with Melanie - She's the best empathy, caring and fair if things don't go to plan I will go into DMP and then contact Melanie

Thanks again - Fingers crossed (Its difficult typing with crossed fingers!)

You'll be fine! I am a big supporter of Grant Thornton, but thank you for your kind words. Trust me they do mean a lot!
