I’ve alreasy asked about car insurance and as part of organising my life I’m looking at mobile phone contracts. I’m no longer in an IVA but have to obvious appalling credit score. I’m currently with a Sim Only contract with Giff Gaff but I need a new phone and have considered taking out a phone contract. With considering my poor credit score, would this be possible and what company is good at working with this sort of issue?

I was with Vodafone through my IVA and was allowed to upgrade when the time came. I also got a new contract with T-Mobile (now EE I think) during my IVA as I needed something Voda didn't supply at that time. I have, however, recently changed to Sky because of their data rollover policy and the fact that they were literally half the price of Vodafone (obviously my credit score was no issue now but thought I would mention them on the price alone!).
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.

I upgraded with Vodafone pre IVA, but wihh a shocking bad credit score so as an existing customer I don't know if they checked my credit score. May be stuck with them for the foreseeable now too, lol. I am wary around companies like O2 who have a bill made up of 2 parts, 1 being the loan for the phone and the other being your airtime tariff. I think I have asked about this before. The very specific word loan worries me I might jeopardise my IVA and be in breach if I went to a company who contract their phones like that.

They all do loan the phone as a "loan" and give airtime seperately --- it is just that a very few actually admit it and show it in the bills -- this is because many firms have been getting away with the customer making payments towards a handset long after they have actually paid for it ! Possibly the next "PPI" !

I recently upgraded through Carphone Warehouse during my IVA and had no issue at all. For comparison, I tried to get a better deal by starting a new contract through EE and was promptly declined!
