i get paid tomorrow (Friday). All the key stuff goes out by Direct Debit on Monday (mortgage, insurances + utility bills).
I need to move the remaining £1200 out as quickly as possible without alerting the bank, so that we can actually eat food this month.
Any suggestions?
If I do a bank transfer out of my account to a savings account (with another bank) will they get suspicious and block it? I dont want to cancel my credit card direct debit until as late as possible ... probably wed/thurs next week.
They may block it - but an on-line transfer may well be the quickest way to find out their attitude to the accounts. Is there any way that you can stop the salary payment going into the account at this late stage? I suspect not.
Be advised as well that even though you may cancel your DD for your credit card, the bank may well re-instate it and take the money out. This happened to me with my loan, even though I didn't have the money in there. It's happened to other posters too.
The good news though, is that any charges IF they do this, will be taken up by IVA.

Be careful which way round you do it - Nationwide told me that I had to withdraw money over the counter first and then use the cashpoint (I think). It might be worth checking with your bank.
