Can anyone expand on what is actually included into the food & housekeeping monthly budget. At present in our IVA we have £300 a month and which breaks down as £50 a week for food and the £100 per month for my partners parking, site expenses and lunch/evening meal. He is able to claim about 40% back.

Housekeeping would usually cover all household food, toiletries, cleaning supplies, social expenditure, meals outside (i.e. at work), and could also cover, newspapers, haircuts, presents and sometimes smoking.

IVAs are individual and so are the expenses which you are allowed, meaning two people with exactly the same debt/income etc.... could be given different housekeeping budgets. I personally would like to see more regimented regulation outlining exactly what is covered by which budget and a blanket amount which would be applicable to everyone.

If your partner has to pay for things like food, parking etc... which he is reimbursed for I would suggest that this should be shown as an expense and an income on the statement of affairs that is presented to your creditors.
