I completed my IVA in June 2006 and am considering re-mortgaging (up to about 50% LTV by the way). I have had a quick internet search for mortgage products generally and one of the products with The Woolwich looks appealing. Does anyone know if The Woolwich entertain ex-IVA's or, alternatively can anyone suggest any other lenders?
Try also HSBC. They are one of the few banks who dont use brokers. They will look at a mortgage once a IVA has been completed 1 year. They gave me a new mortgage back in February. Things may have changed since then but its worth a try.

Hi
Interesting news about HSBC because they are the only bank, to my knowledge, that will actively search the insolvency register and close a bank account if they find that a customer has entered into an IVA.
Regards
HSBC and First Direct (sister companies) are well known for this. They will close the accounts of people who are bankrupt or in an IVA.

Glad I'm not on the team who have to trawl the list and match the accounts. The more I learn about being in debt and trying to sort it out and the responses of the creditors, the more my eyes are opened. Thanks for the info.
7 year IVA completed in December 2016 - there is light at the end of that tunnel
I'm sure they don't care! At the end of the day they will be paid a wage.

They don't - you are right. Last year someone in Truro won a half share on the lottery - according to the papers at the time HSBC had previously forced b/r on him - when they discovered he had won the prize money they asked the person to bank with them again - what the Daily Mail said at the time was well worth reading!
