How easy is it to find a company to accept you after 4 or 5 years if you are in or just out of an iva, especially if you have to take the equity release option?

Hi
It is fairly easy to remortgage but you will need to use a mortgage broker to find you the best deal.

Hi Colmar and welcome to the forum

You will have no problem finding a mortgage product. But as Andy has stated you will need to talk to a mortgage broker who is experienced in this field and has suitable products available.

Both welshboy (who also posts on this forum) and myself have this experience and products. There are hundreds of others to be found with a simple 'bad credit mortgages' search on UK google.
