I tried to remortgage in the summer with my existing lender the abbey but it fell through. I thought the house was worth more than the surveyor said estate agents valuation 185k abbey surveyor 169k existing mortgage 130k. It was 2 months before I found out no confirmed offer and only by a third party - I was despairing by that time as so much time has elapsed - I had not condifence then in their adviser so just dropped the whole thing. I feel I should have complained but I then became really ill so couldn't deal with it. I was going for remortgaging to re-consolidate over as long as period as possible with the term split as my husband is a lot younger ie third of mortage capital repayment finishing at 70 and the rest temporarily on interest only. Would then move, downsize for smaller capital repayment in about 10 years time over say15 years. You wouldn't think i used to be a financial advisor would you!!!!!!
