You choose an IP who maintains regular contact with you, and who can help to take the ongoing pressure away from you.

The important thing is to be absolutely sure that you can afford to make the repayments being suggested to you. They should feel comfortably affordable - and if in doubt, you probably cannot afford them.

Also make sure that you carefully read through the IVA proposal, and attached terms and conditions, to be absolutely sure you know what you are letting yourselves in for over the next five years. If in doubt, query it with your IP.

Gook luck!

Thanks for this - I have run through the budget and its OK we can afford what the required payment is and we will be able to give more in year 2 and beyond but my concern is what if they will not accept it ? - BR not an option would be devastating for my job[:(]

Have faith in your IP - people like me do not make a habit of working on proposals that we don't think will be accepted. If they are prepared to put it forward for you, then they must think it will work. Which IP firm are you using?

Hi GGR
All the very best. Its the worst time waiting but it has to be done. As all have said if the offer is good there is no reason for them to turn it down. Chin up, shoulders back and keep ggoing these few weeks will pass and then hopefully stress relieved.
If not there will still be a way forward it may just take longer to pay off, but you will get ther because you want to.

Hi GGR,

I know that this is a hard time for you as it feels like your life is in the hands of your creditors. However remain strong, and try not to dwell on things that are out of your control.

Just out of interest, who are you creditors?
