really nasty letters wanting to take legal action

I have an IVA that was agreed in November. But many letters have not stopped coming to my address and some are really nasty wanting to take legal action. My IPs gets the letters sent on to them and I guess deal with them. The letters worry me still. What is in place to stop the creditors doing this? What are the consquences for them? I have had seven letters in the last four weeks.My IPS says not to worry but surely they must get in trouble for harrasment in the end....

Hi, you will probably find that its taking a little while for your IVA acceptence to filter through the system. Dont worry about the letters, the IVA is legally binding. Just keep sending them to your IP and be patient, the letters will stop soon.

yep, just keep passing them on to your IP, they will stop eventualy.

If it helps write back on their piece of paper giving details of your IVA county court number and that usually stops the nastiness!

This is extremely tedious, and results from poor communication both within the lenders and between lenders and collection agencies once an IVA has been accepted.

It will eventually die down, and I suggest that you just ignore them in the meantime as they cannot take any form of legal action against you due to the existence of the IVA. As Ray has suggested, be proactive about confirming the details with them, and things will eventually quieten down.
