Melanie, with my debts of around 100k, agency fees of 4k, solicitors fee of 1.5k and your fee, how much is the least I can really accept for a quick sale and to still do a full and final iva? Not sure if you can really answer that but I noticed you were still awake and I just wanted to sort things out in my head! Viki X

There is no real answer to that Viki - as you are actually offering creditors an IVA with its lower cost against a bankrutpcy with much higher costs - but based on the same asset. So whether you sell for £20,000 or £80,000 it does not really matter.

This is probably better chatted through - I am in Plymouth all day tomorrow at my office there, but you can call me either in the mornign when I am in the car for 3 hours or on my way back. Angela can give you my mobile number - please tell her I told you it was OK!

Oh thank you Melanie, I will call Angela in the morning and give you a call, I appreciate that. I think I need to know what is probably going to be the best for me even though, I know, neither of us can predict the future. Viki X

I would try selling your car locally(ie local paper) Viki W.
I always buy my vans for my business on E bay because they are a lot CHEAPER than buying them locally,or from a garage.
its weighing up the pros and cons I guess!

Hey jpj, yeah thanks, I'm going to look into that, I'm going to buy the paper tonight and have a nose.

Spoke to Melanie this morning and feel more positive, it was lovely to finally talk to her, I was a bit worried because I thought I would either cry or mumble rubbish but Melanie is so "normal" to talk to (Melanie, if you're reading this I mean that as a compliment! [:I])

I phoned agent and put the restaurant down to £79,500 in the hope a sale in the next two months. They say they have 68 matches on their books of people who are looking in the area for that amount so hopefully I should hear something soon.

I'm still going to sell the car so we have some money, it's a shame because I absolutely love it and feel like I'm abandoning a part of the family! Ho hum, life goes on.

Thanks everyone for listening and your support and advice. Viki X

"Normal" is good enough for me Viki!!

Keep the pressure up on those agents - and ask for weekly progress reports so they know you mean business.
