I do petrol prices as well, although I have found sometimes that I go out on the day I get the email to the cheapest local one, and they've put the price up!

It is a good indicator though.

On Monday I got my car tax renewal - £120 for the year, which I know is very cheap compared to most cars and I've got £90 saved in Post Office savings stamps. Yesterday I filled up with petrol at £117.9 a litre - £25 for half a tank. Today I got my insurance renewal through from Churchill - £420, reduced to £371 when I complained it was too high. Next month my car will need an MOT - around £55. And I wonder why I'm skint!

What really gets me is, they put the price on stuff immediately. Did anyone see that carers allowance thing on the news yesterday? Finally I thought, us carers would be getting some sort of help, we are the lowest paid benefit. Yes they are going to pledge a few billion actually I think it was 1,5 billion. They are going to put it into respite, I know its needed, but it will be a postcode lottery and there will be so much disqualifying criteria (Like the person has to be 90+ or something). Most of us wont qualify. So why cant they just give us a pay rise???? Like the petrol is all sorted the following day but carers will be struggling on for the next ten years or so while they build these 'respite' venues and half of the carers have gone round the twist by then. And another government will pull them all down or turn them into casinos or something... Ok so it might take time to input a rise, a month, maybe two or even six months, no, flippin ten years. Petrol tomorrow, they are gaining. Carers some respite but dont hold your breath, we are waiting for you to go round the twist,,, ten years.. It makes me mad, just in case you were wondering. In fact I actually text the BBC news as there was a number on screen, telling them as much. Never done this before, when they text back I almost choked on my toast.... it was just a thank you for texting...
