Lisa - phone Brightoak as soon as you can to set your mind at rest. They are very sympathetic and will sort you out quickly I am sure.

Hi Lisa
Sorry to hear your news I can imagine how you feel but we are all here for you. You have had lots of good advice above, I too would try the company that Melanie suggests. If Black Horse do ring and you don't want to speak to them then don't - tell them it's not convenient for you to speak to them at the moment and you will contact them when it is and hang up. Hope you have a better day today and do not call yourself a failure it's just a difficult time in your life that will get sorted out. Take care
Sue

Lisa

Having read all the comments on this post, please will you remind me if you have a property or if you and your husband are renting?

If you are renting, then I think by far your best solution now is bankruptcy. You owe £19,500 and even if you pay £280 per month and 100% of this goes to your creditors and no further interest is charged (not guaranteed), then its going to take 70 months (nearly 6 years) to repay your debt. You will be strugling to make ends meet all the way.

With bankruoptcy, you will be discharged in 12 months and will only have to pay for 3 years. I am certain that you will pay less each month as well as the courts seem to be less harsh than creditors when it comes to monthly payments

Hi Lisa
really sorry bout your iva when mine failed it was different circumstances to yours i contacted my creditors and am paying them all what i can afford.
Ive been quite lucky as they have frozen interest for the next 6 months ,but dont necessecerely do this, its only really until i start the iva process again. i would advise if you are doing an DMP then go through a company as they will deal with your creditors and normaly manage to get interest frozen it will save you all the stress of continuous phone calls, and give you one monthly payment,at least you will be paying your debt back even if it does take longer, and if creditors do continue to hassle you then you can refer them on to the company representing you,it will be better than trying to deal with it all on your own.But you can always contact cccs a charity based organisation that do not charge for DMP,if you do not hear back from pp,i should think they will be in touch though.
Good luck Lisa keep posting let us know how you are getting on.
