Hello every one
Wish you all a happy New year
I completed IVA in 2009 having been in iva for about an year and half, with a full and final payment. My credit file is clean as for as I am aware.
I am 66 now and had a mortgage of 250.K
Have retired recently and receive a pension and old age pension of about 2100 pounds net.
Have reduced the mortgage and now have a mortgage of 170K,interest only.
This concludes in about a year, hence I am looking for a remortgage . My present lender appears to be reluctant to extend, because of my age.
As I understand that Banks only lend up to age of 75 on repayment basis only.I will not be able to pay repayment mortgage unless the term is extended for a longer period.
Hence I would like to know if there are any lenders who is willing to give mortgage either on repayment or interest only.
The house is worth about 300k.
The mortgage is in my name only.
My wife is 49 and housewife, not in employment.
I would like to know if including her name on mortgage make any difference.
Your valued opinion wold be appreciated.
Thanks.
Hara.
