Hi, I've gone from total happiness of paying an f and f back in September 17, this week I finally get an email to say that my completion certificate is on its way. I'm separating which is why I paid it off, but I'm having problems finding somewhere to rent. I can prove earnings of up to £80k a year, plus I can offer 6 months rent up front. But I keep getting told that because of my credit report I wouldn't be accepting. Has anyone had experience in this?

Many get accepted if they offer a higher deposit or upfront rental, despite failing the credit report. A guarantor can also help -- at the end of the day the agent can ask the landlord. Other options are to look at landlords who do not rent through an agent -- they generally do not credit check, but rely on references.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.

Private landlords are the way forward whilst the iva remains on your credit file.

I would think the deposit would go in your favour - you really won't know until you find somewhere and speak to the landlord.

but a guarantor might be required.
