renting before of after br

hi could anyone tell me if i would be better off renting before bankruptcy or after because unsure chances of getting rented property because of credit checks showing im bankrupt and house repossesion. not sure whether to wait til house is repossessed go br then rent or just leave house ,rent then go br very confused?

If you have made up your mind to move out of the property and declare yourself bankrupt, I would personally do this as soon as possible in order to avoid a failed credit check. Be open and honest with your mortgage company as to why this is being done, rather than just moving out and posting them the keys.

It bwould be better to rent before bankruptcy and be honest with lettings agents. Be prepared to make a six month deposit.

Is the Landlord made aware ?
If there is no problem regards paying the rent prior, problem ?

Well my IVA proposed meeting is on 15th Nov and I MOVE to new
rental accom on Dec 8th..
So I was just wondering what happens once I moved in to new place and later on if the IVA didnt make it and I go bankrupt what
happens in that regard and I have been paying the rent with no probs

As far as I understand it Brian, if you were to go BR whilst in rented accommodation, as long as you are up-front and honest with your landlord, I cannot forsee any problems.

I am presently in my own home which I am going to lose due to BR, have found rented accommodation through a private landlord and was open about my BR and he was absolutely fine with it.

I am in rented housing and recently went BR. The OR told me during the interview that as long as I gave her a copy of my rental agreement, she had no reason to contact the landlord.
