Hi,

Happy Valentines Day all[:)]
I just wanted to share with anyone who has previously asked the question about renting. My husband and I put in an application for a new rented property as I previously explained we are getting back together, after seperating last year. It is through a letting agent. I have just been informed that the tenancy is to go ahead. The company used a company called Homelet for our references and credit check. We have been renting for two years after having to sell our home to pay off secured debt. In this time we have never missed a payment, and always paid on time, so I feel this goes a long way in their final decision.

Hi Paula,

Congratulations on having your tenancy approved. Thank you for sharing the information on homelet, I'm sure it will be useful to others who rent and are considering an IVA.

Kind regards,
Terry Balfour

Hi Hovish

Thats great news. Did you mention your IVA to the letting agent at all?

Hi,

Yes we did tell the letting agent about the IVA. On the homelet form it asked if ever been bankrupt. You do have to be honest because if they find out later that you have not disclosed it it could harm your application. I always feel honesty is the best policy.
