this is my first post and i'm after some advice on renting while on an iva. my partner and i are thinking of moving into rented accommodation together. i have an iva since july 2008 which is is solely in my name and not his, as none of the debt was his. i know i will fail a credit check, so i'm wondering if it would be best to rent the flat in his name, and for me to contribute to rent/bills etc? is it possible to do that? grateful for any advice anyone can give me. great board by the way![:)]

Hi linzi and welcome.

Yes, there should be no problems with you doing that. Just keep your IP informed of any changes in circumstances.

Your partner would also have to contribute to joint running costs like light and heat as well.
