Hi guys

Just started out in year 7 of my IVA but at least now I know for sure that this is the final year!!

I have today had a look at my credit file as I figured that as it is now more then 6 years since my IVA started there should be no defaults on my credit file as they would have all dropped off post 6 years.

There were 2 on there. One was for Nationwide Credit card and it looks like they have been applying a default every month for the last 72 months! The other is from Santander dated November 2010.

How do I go about getting these removed?
Can I do that now or do I have to wait until the IVA is complete?
Do I just write to the lender or the credit agency?

Thanks for your help.

Hi,

You need to contact the data controllers once the IVA is finished and you have your completion letter. Then write to them and tell them to remove any defaults after the original IVA.

No - each company that sends the information to them.
IVA started March 2011, Completed March 2016 and certificate issued 11 days after final payment. It was not always easy but then some of the best decisions aren't.

Agree - it is each creditor that has defaulted you.

Makes sure that you check the credit reports after 2-3 months, as I sent mine and my husbands off, they updated the credit reports to reflect the start of IVA date and satisfaction dates, and I've noticed this weekend that they have changed the default dates back to the incorrect ones we started off with, so currently printing out more letters !

You should be able to get the creditors to adjust these accordingly once the IVA is finished. They will receive confirmation of the same form your IP but you may have to send them the CC again to get things moving.
