I am sure that your IP is negotiating with TDX, the representatives for HBoS plc - do you know why they turned you down? If you can address their issues, then you may well be able to get them to change their minds.

Good luck!

I find that a really odd reason for rejection, and hope that your IP works hard for you in explaining to the creditors that your husband does not have a gambling addiction.

I agree with Melanie on this. Four years is a long time ago and as long as there is no evidence of gambling in the previous 6-12 months I am sure that your IP can argue this one out with the creditors.

Hi Sue,

As the experts above have already stated it is rather odd that Hbos gave a rejection due to gambling that occurred 4 years ago, surely they could see that he has ceased.

Keep us posted with the final decision.

This does seem odd, there was gambling on some of my cards a lot more recently than 4 years ago and it never cropped up as an issue, though I did specifically include it to be shown in my statement. Was it mentioned in your proposal?

Hi Sue - also Im not sure who might of initially rejected my proposal but I know the key for me was getting KPMG to accept - which they duly did with a better offer and beneficiary interest payments at the end of the proposal (3 extra months) - though they left it till the last minute! So yes, things can be turned around.
