Hi, I have been in an IVA for just over one year now. I received the paperwork for my first review of income and expenditure in the middle of November and retured it to IVA firm within a day or two later. I haven't heard anything back and am just wondering how long you would usually have to wait to hear back (I think it has been approx 4 weeks for me so far since returnng paperwork). If they increase my payments, I assume they would let to need me know in the first instance? I will maybe try to call them early next week to chase this up (I won't get time to contact them before that because of work) but was just wondering in the meantime what other people's experiences are on the review process?

Thanks
B

Your IP has two months after the anniversary of their appointment to file their report.

Hi Beresford -

I had a pay rise about 9 months into my IVA. Rather than wait till my Annual Review I sent the details into my IVA Company and received a reply with a revised monthly payment about one week later.

I must admit I am a bit paranoid about my payments!!! If I was you I think I would have chased my IVA Company about 100 times already!!!

Good Luck.

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly.

Melanie - my IVA anniversary is 23rd November so would I be correct in thinking from the information you provided that my IP has up to two month from that date (i.e. up to approx 23rd Jan) to get back to me?

Optomist - I know what you mean but I'm trying to stay relaxed about this as much as possible so have tried to resist the urge to call them in case I come across as bothering them. But I will try to call them as soon as possible just to check that they have at least received my review forms (can't see any harm in doing that).

Thanks again

I always send my Overtime cheques etc. by Royal Mail "Special Delivery". It is very expensive (minimum £4-30) but it guarantees delivery next working day and you can check on the Royal Mail website that your item has been delivered.

I have my Annual Review coming up early next year and am hoping for no nasty surprises!!! One year completed will be an important milestone though.

Thanks Optomist I'll note for future reference to send important information like this by Special Delivery. I'm hopeful that my IP has my paperwork anyway because I'm sure they would have got in tocuh with me by now if they hadn't receive it. I'll ring them asap (I would ring them during work but it's so difficult to get any privacy in the office I work in).

Good luck on your review coming up, and just like you I'm hoping for no shocks too. Yipee one year down, four more to go!

Hi Beresfor - that is correct, although some IPs may file their reports earlier.

I sent anything to my IP (and now to the OR) by Recorded Delivery rather than Special Delivery - it's still traceable and a lot cheaper than Special Delivery!

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is the present - a gift to make the most of.
