Our contingency is a great big zilch at the moment. Things are rising rapidly and saving is becoming harder. We are lucky and get overtime at that, so I can understand the pressure some are feeling. Just keep checking out the offers and see anywhere you can save money. I am seriously considering a bike for work now, rather than taxi's (work nights)but the hills scare me lol.

You have to be safe!

I am a bit of a safety freak I know, but it important to everyone around you that you are all safe and well.

Please be careful Ang.

If the hills scare you then that is reason enough not to get a bike when doing nights - I'm a right wimp!! XX

We've only just started out on the road but are trying to stick to the budget laid out after our consultations. Our car needs at least two new tyres and the spare is flat. I'm sure we'll find the money but I can see that it's going to be tough.

If you think nobody cares whether you're alive or dead, try missing a couple of credit card payments!!!

Thanks marie that is the bit I am trying to decide on. The safety aspect. I dont live too far and can go along quiet roads, to be honest a fair bit can be actually off road. I do walk in the summer, but when dark its just not safe. Buses are awkward as it takes two and costs nearly as much as a taxi. Of course a comfy saddle has to be considered as well lol.

ooooooh yeah comfty saddle a must!

I've got a cheek harping on about safety afer my recent exploits! [:I]

I'm sure you will make the right decision for you......I can't wait until little one in high school and then we can bin one of our cars - how expensive are they?!

I can't ride to work as peoples push bikes keep getting stolen - it's a joke especially due to where I work.....until they make the fence higher there is no point. [:(]

We found that apart from christmas, this was one of the hardest times of the year with school uniforms, P.E kits and shoes to pay for.

Infact the last year we had to save a couple of things they had from the year before because to buy new for all of them was just too expensive.

Casi ... I cannot believe that in this day and age we are allowing people to sleep in their car ... you take care of yourself, and take Melanie up on that offer.

Hi Debbie & Marie,

Blimey, I've started something here.

I'm only 4 months into my IVA , and , like everyone am finding it really tough.

With the ever rising costs of living , it's certainly not going to get any easier.

However , with the support of each other on this forum , at least we get heard.

Like a lot of others , I'm with Melanie and her team.

They are fantastic , and that is why I'm determined to stick to the proposal.

Just to let you know , I'm going to have Beans on (Gluten Free ) Toast next week so that I can get petrol, and won't be sleeping in the car.

Keep smiling, and thanks again for your support[:)]

Casi you'll tell us anything! [;)]

Enjoy your beans, and gluten free bread......a lady I work with gave me a gluten free cake mix. It actually makes really nice cakes.

We are with Melanie, I was glad to read her post, did you feel all shouted at lol [:D][:D] (in a nice way of course).

It felt like a Harry Potter moment where Rons mum sends that howler (you have to have seen it).

I hope you will be okay.

I want to start cycling to work, but until the install the cycle rack they promised months ago I won't do it as someone had their bike stolen.
