I'm glad it isn't just me struggling. I try my hardest to stick to the budget but it doesn't happen. I had to pay £180 for root canal treatment this month - the £50 contingency doesn't cover most emergencies.

Jane, sorry if I'm being thick but what is the OR?

Tell me about it, My car got a puncture so i had to pay out for a new tyre ... I think i have a real problem with spending money, even if i have a budget say £20 food shop for the week, my eyes must roll back in my head and i come out of the shop without any meals!
I dont know how to solve it.. i cant keep ending up in this situation.

I have just spent £92 on school shoes (x 3) £175 on uniform and £75 on new coats for school. I do wish they wouldn't grow so fast!

Do any of you guys get terrified of spending?? I dont mean stupid things like TV's or loads of dosh things. I mean the food shopping?? I am so scared of running out of something and spending too much, even though I do add up but I just cant do a proper weekly shop. I just am too scared of spending it all and running out of milk or something. Is it just me or does anyone else know what I mean? Just the thought of it is enough, I am becoming Tesco Phobic.

Take cash. The thought of having to put items back once you get to the till is enough to stop me putting too much in the trolley!
