Hi all,

My wife and I only have two payments to go on our IVA ( including a years extension as we couldn't release equity from our house)

My wife works for the NHS and can get a new car on a salary sacrifice scheme, no deposit nor credit agreement. if we used this scheme after we made our last payment would we need to tell DFD as we would be waiting for the CC.

thanks

Mark

Hi,

Pretty sure you would be ok as your IVA payments will have finished so your salary is your own,

Irrespective the scheme is more cost effective and should be a no brainier for them.

Additionally you are not taking on credit.
IVA started March 2011, Completed March 2016 and certificate issued 11 days after final payment. It was not always easy but then some of the best decisions aren't.

Thanks, it is a real good scheme and we real need to change our car as we haven't had spare cash to keep on top of the old one, was hoping sign up to it after making our last payment, but didn't know if we should tell DFD.

It sounds like a good idea. My only niggling thought is until you receive the completion cert you potentially remain under the terms of your IVA ... If it were me i think I would ask DFD to respond in writing to say all payments made etc and that the suggested car scheme is ok to proceed.

Other half was on it - brand new car, insurance and all service costs included (including breakdown) plus as new more fuel efficient.

Only downside if give it back early I.e. Before 3 years responsible for certain costs,

Sounds like a good plan but I would probably just mention it to IP as Luluj suggests to avoid any surprises.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

DFD should have no problem with this but you should tell them if the CC has not been issued. The finance company may run a check and find the IVA and if this is the case they would need to seek approval from DFD for the agreement to proceed.

Michael - there are no finance checks.

It's purely based on salary, being employed by the NHS etc.

So this would be open to anyone regardless of credit history which is a good thing. Still probably worth keeping DFD in the loop but definitely a good service to offer the staff.

Sorry for a later update, The person at the call center wasn't sure about this so she had to pass it onto an IP, we were told we would have an answer within 5 days, 3 days later we were told it wasn't a problem and to go ahead and order the new car.
