Just think what you can do when you have finished PD!

I looked into a Post Office savings account but you had to open it with £500 and keep a balance of £500 in it!

Good point!

Always better to deal face to face with a person rather than someone on the end of a phone.

Hi Skippy

Have a look at the National Savings and Investments, www.nsandi.com they are an arm of the post office I think and offer a range of savings accounts

Best of luck

Thanks for that Stu, I'll have a look into that. One day, if I ever have any money I think I'll buy some Premium Bonds to go with the £12 I've already got!

I declared them to the OR and she said if Dave wrote a cheque for £12 I could keep them - it was obviously more hassle than they were worth for her to take them!

Sorry Skippy I didn't even think that they would be interested in them at all.

No need to apologise! When I filled out the forms I completely forgot them so I panicked and phoned the OR, who I think thought I was over reacting!

I was glad to be able to keep them though as they were a present when I was born - I'm showing my age now as you can only buy them in multiples of £100 now!

I am glad you were able to keep them as they were a gift. In reality £12 premium bonds hardly make a difference to the bigger picture.

It would have done if I'd won the big one!!! Not that I can see that happening though - I won £50 when I was about 8!
