Hi

Can't remember who it was (might have been Ray A???)who posted about the new Post Office Savings scheme especially for people who want to save for Christmas 2008. Can't withdraw any money until November 2008, etc. Does anybody know what this particular scheme is called and when it is due to go "on sale" at the Post Office?

Many thanks

Liz

It was Ray i think its in the money saving tips thread I think. not sure when they go on sale but they do like a good idea.

Hi Becky and e.h,
yes it was Ray who found this excellent link:

Heard this on the radio today and found a link to the BBC website!

I told you that I was going to find ways to give everyone a chance to have a good Christmas for 2008. This must be good news for us and allows us a chance to put something away each week!

Thanks Becky - it sounds like a brilliant idea, doesn't it. We are definitely going to take advantage of it.

If you ring the PO Helpline 08457 223344, I think there is an option to pre-register, although the scheme doesn't start to January I think.

I will give them a call tomorrow as the last few days have been hectic!

Looked on their website and could not find anything about it but pleased they are dealing with it!

We could have a competition for next year to see who can save the most without upsetting their IP!
