Whilst your IVA is been sorted, some drones in the form of debt collection agencies are paid to extract money.MBNA is a classic operator. They say payments are needed now even though your IVA or DMP is in progress.

There are NO written agreed moratorium on what to pay whilst your IVA/DMP is sorted.

And as for a goodwill payment.....I woudn't bother now as the banks are no longer the frigteners but the lost souls

We stopped all our payments once the proposal had gone in, and only paid again after the IVA had been agreed. During the whole time we were trying to juggle everything I think we only ever made 2 token payments, the other companies were told we couldn't afford them and we would be sending letters in with payment proposals - not that they ever listened though!

our IVA was accepted on the 28th April.. we are still getting calls from certain creditors (GE money and Capital One funnily these didn't even vote!!), I got quite distressed last week with GE even asking which part of IVA didn't he quite grasp/understand!! hopefully will settle down soon, but I think its virtually left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing!!

hang in there its worth it
Ang.. 13 payments in.. WOW, thats over 20% paid!! http://angela18.blogs.iva.co.uk/ well here we go

Ours was 21st April, we had a call from Mercers the same day. Had a couple of letter since from CL Finance (my store cards) and I phoned and explained to them - no problem at all. HSBC sold our debt to Robinson Way, and we had a letter and phone call on the same day this week. Explained it to them and they were fine.

Hopefully all will have stopped now.

We have noticed that junk mail has been seriously reduced - no more letters asking us if we want credit cards or loans!
