Then perhaps a DMP is the right solution for you, given the low level of your disposable income - although I know that Size 5s firm (Cleardebt) do low contribution IVAs and it might be worth contacting them for further advice.

Sorry..it's getting late and I've been up since 6 this morning, as you've probaly guessed....
Well I'm no expert but I don't think it's impossible for you to enter an IVA. The best advice I can give you is get all your figures sorted and contact a professional for some individual advice. Melanie and her team have a brilliant reputation and a high acceptance rate.
If it isn't possible for an IVA, there's DMP and even bankruptcy, providing it will not affect your employment.
It's nice to be back......

Speak to a professional directly in the morning and whatever you do don't try and struggle on as it isn't worth it, although it may seem bad now, there ARE more important things to worry about first.

If you could get child tax credits this would increase your disposable income and then an IVA could be possible - or better still you might be able to maintain ongoing contractual repayments.

Hi Chilliperper,

Don't despair, there are some amzing people on here that will support you throught this time. Everyone is great at listening and offering sound advice.

You're priority is your health and your children. I too, have felt such dispair at the mess I have got into, but you can't beat yourself up forever. You are taking action now and the rest should fall in to place. A DMP is a Debt Management Plan, but as Melanie and fellow experts have said, you ned to calculate everything, I know it's shocking and difficult to look at, but you will truly feel better once you have done this. Then, as everyone else has advised, call for professional advice. Remember, they have heard far worse over time.

I'm sorry to hear about your separation with your husband, but hopefully yo can sort things out.

Your priority at the moment is your family. The debt will get sorted, believe me. I've been where you are at the moment and I can understand how desperate and worried you're feeling.
Professional advice is what you need, they will explain ALL of your options and help you decide on the best one for you and your family.

Just concentrate on one thing at a time and them address the rest. It may take all of energy to get the wheels in motion, but don't give up.
