I am starting an IVA - bit scared as it seems such a big thing - but I have to sort my life out! I am using Debt Free Direct, who have been absolutely lovely - I have been reading some of the forums and now I'm even more scared that its not going to happen. Can anyone ease my mind?

Firstly welcome to the forum, your feelings are completely normal and expected. Just to put your mind at ease an IVA is an extremely useful and effective product, the key is to get the right Insolvency Practitioner working for you, most of the scare stories seem to be associated with certain companies. I personally have never had any dealings with Debt Free Direct in my years of work in this industry but I posted here before stating that there are some of the best professional people that I have ever encountered here offering advice on this site. So to all out there get the right IP and you won`t go far wrong.Best of luck

Hi mo w

Forum's like this tend to be used more by people who have had bad experiences and are looking for advice and support rather than good experiences - although there is a fair amount of positive comment here too.

Take comfort in the fact that you are trying to do something positive to repay your creditors, and that it is down to your IP to present the very best proposal they can for you on the day.
