Our iva is like yours Jan, all our income is pooled together, and the iva payment is just one payment per month. I thought that all 'interlocking' iva's were like that, but obviously not.

It must be very difficult for wonder and ivas4us, and very confusing at times.

Hope you both get through this ok.

iva approved. 5 down 55 to go

I See what the problem is now. I did not put an allowance in for child care. I need to look into this to see what can be done.

Our IVA's have seperate payments, but they come out of the same account and on the same day of the month.

ours are the same day of the month just we dont have a joint account and it unlikely that we could make either of our accounts joint, so they come out of seperate accounts. I don't think anybody has money left over for extras whilst in an iva. Its just getting used to the budget we have set ourselves.

Did you forget to budget for child care Paul? And are you heading for a variation so soon into your IVA? IVA payments are supposed to be comfortable and not punitive, and all of the little allowances afforded under the CCCS guidelines, which I hope were taken into account in your case, can make a real difference at the end of the day.

This may not be a popular comment but I am at a loss with so many people having with their budgets. Melanie gave us a very realistic budget which is easily managed without strain - if one IP can do it why can't others?

I think it depends on your IP and what figures you have put forward. Some people won't realise that they have missed something off until they need to spend money. Others will do it because they are scared of being rejected.

Some will also agree to payment modifications at their meetings, again to get their IVA accepted.

A lot of them haven't found this site, or do so when it is too late and so aren't aware of what they can claim.

Not all IP's are as good as those that post on here!

I forgot about it to be honest. I beleive I can sort it as the child care costs are short term. The child care costs are not that great as my wifes mother looks after little one most of the time. I may be able to get childcare vouchers from work as well and save a little there. We wont need a variation. Don't worry I will be posting on here in five years that I have successfully completed my IVA. It will be done.

Elv5 (note sure if D or J), to answer your question I beleieve that IP's will use the figures that they are given by the individual(s). I have given what I beleive to be reallistic figures for us and ones I know that are achieavable. Just got to make a slight adjustment to make the child care costs work but it is still achieavable.

Good to see you, hope the eyes are better. Iva will be fine, no worries at all. I think the wife is going through the worrying stage at the moment but it will be fine.
