Hi David & melanie & thanks for your reply.
We are with Blair Endersby & have been in a IVA for a year.
We had all over IVA proposal done over the phone & was told when they were amending our I&E that we were been given maxium allowances for a IVA.
We were given the impression that this was standard procedure & could see it would be hard. I am actually afraid of rocking the boat so to speak & just want to get through it & not fail.
Final IVA payment made in April 2013, never ever thought we could do it or get through it but we did! X

FAO David:
Debts 15,930 / Total Household income: 1513
IVA proposal:Rent 490 / Water 30 / Coucil Tax 77 / Gas 30 / Electric 30 / H Phone 20 / mobiles 40 / TV 11 / Car Ins 40 / Car Tax 15 /Car Maint 35 / Fuel 95 / Food & Household 295 / Clothing 35/ Sky 21 / Eye & Dental care 28 / Other 20. Total: 1312 = 201 for creditors.

Our gas is £87 per month and the electric £83 per month and we had no problem at all getting that accepted.

Sounds similar to us. We had to cut things down to get the IVA excepted. I provide all our family with packed lunches, I dont think this works out more expensive than school dinners as you can get some bargain snack bars and fruit etc. We are ok at the moment because some bills haven't come in but hopefully after the first year we can put more realistic quotes on for food, bills etc and add things that we forget like child care and vets etc.
Life goes on!!

I wouldnt exactly say putting children on packed lunches is making them suffer!!

Is there a real need for a hot lunch if by chance they will be having a hot meal in the evening?
Steve.

Wonder - are you saying that your IP told you to reduce expenditure allowances to make your IVA payments fit? Or did they recommend that you reduce areas of expenditure to accomodate the CCCS guidelines?

Blair Endersby I will be contacting you as soon as Tax Credits send me my new award notice as they reduced my payments provisonally until its renewed. The I will have a very clear view of our Income & Expenditure, at the moment its unbalanced as I do not know what child tax credit award we are getting.

Lone ranger, I am not saying my children are suffering not having school dinners & they get a hot meal at night. Though school dinners are ideal for the winter months. I simply cant afford them on our budget & we have no room for the children to do out of school activites like swimming lessons, beavers, football groups etc.

Melanie - thanks for your replies I know your busy, Nothing was mentioned of CCCS guidelines & it was just amended over the phone in the words of "Im giving you these alllowances which are the maxium".
In all honesty after living on credit for some time - you lose sight of what you actually spend, as you dont think of the total amount of a food shop is going to cost & we certainly new 30 for gas & 30 for electric was never going to cover it, but its what they put down.
I am grateful for the IVA but do feel as though our IVA was set to fail as it has been unrealistic. Our IVA was approved in April 08 & my husband received a pay increase of 56 a month & we phoned to tell them & was told to pay over 50% every month, so we did. We have only coped this far due to the amount of overtime my husband did as I have said in a early post. When it got to November & winter hit is when I contacted the company to say we could no longer carry on with our allowances, so they did a I&E review 4 week later. Which I managed to get husbands income to swallow the extra we were spending on Gas etc. But still had to keep the IVA payment the same, as we were told our creditors would expect us to reduce our Expenditure if it went into what was avalible for creditors. So we have had to plod on.

I do not think it is fair that you should have to suffer quite so much under an IVA, I initially contacted National debtline who jigged my figures to give me £200 for an IVA, but thankfully I found this forum in time and went to Cleardebt who actually took into account what I do spend...xx thanks again David
Creditors meeting set for 2nd June....

Quick mental note to a earlier reply I have posted. We never knew of CCCS Guidelines till a few months ago when Melanies team very kindly emailed them to me.
Though I have found the CCCS website before starting or looking into a IVA & filled out the I&E & it came up that we where not suitable for an IVA as not enough disposable income.
