you are in really good hands spaklywatcher. I know it is stressfull and Phil does more than me but I am sure we both agree David would not put his name to a proposal he thought was not going to make the grade.

Its hard to cut down when you go shopping. I mean if you go to these big shops they have so many tempting offers, I do get some of them as they are buy one get one free so I keep one aside. But other offers make you buy things you could do without. So I try to go to smaller shops with less variety. Its hard changing your shopping habits and having to buy basics. My money goes on food, my car & child care, hubby's money pays for rest so any spare money he has.

Sparklywatcher, sorry to hear everything else is getting on top of you, but I did go through the same thing leading up to my CM and it is a natural reaction. As soon as the IVA was approved I couldn't understand why other things had got on top of me, so I think it is all probably related. Stay strong and things will soon be so much better for you.

I just feel at the start of an IVA its a case of finding your feet again with how far money actually goes, its like that first day at school or the first day at the new job, its worrying but you soon start to accept your new environment.

I think hubby should go shopping to see how easy it is to cut £50 week off your bill. Very hard at the moment. In a few months I might have got the hang of it, but when certain people are fussy with food then it makes times very hard. Pasta bake is a cheap meal for 5. [:D][:D][:)][:p]

I would go Br before eating pasta. I can't stand it. Tesco do noodles for about 20p a pack, put some tomato sauce in now thats a cheap meal. Buy a full sack of potatoes it works out about the same as half a sack if you buy them in dribs and drabs. Sunday markets also offer some good food deals. It is a case of being thrifty but I believe my IVA is achieveable.

I had egg and chips for my tea this evening and I really enjoyed it! But I would not want to eat it every day.

Why not set him a challenge of giving him £92 next week, send him shopping and make him cook all of the dinners, with a challenge to save at least £10 for savings. He might just get a permanent job!

Melanie, I don't do cooking very often and I have a permanant job. I also beleive I could do the shopping for £82 a week. Biggest challange for me is keeping the same car for 5 years. I have had more cars than socks in the past.

Hey sparklywatcher - don't worry everything will be fine. It is natural to be stressful at this time and you'll come through OK at the end of it.

You have your new friends on here posting and supporting you and you have my excellent team doing all that is necessary and you have me ensuring that everything is going to plan.

By the way I had fish and mash potatoes last night!

Pork chop, roast potatoes and broccoli last night - not that I had a lot of it!

We do the shopping together, usually manage to spend between £40 and £50, sometimes less. He does the cooking as well so I just leave it all to him!
