You shuld be able to claim for this - just put it down and speak to the IP about it.

It is normally included in the usual clothing allowance, and not accounted for separately.

Hi Jane

School uniform is expensive - i just bought my daughters for her 1st year in high school and it cost a fortune!

School uniform should be included in your allowance but have a chat with your IP and see if they can help :-)

Your normal clothing allowance should be £68 and school uniforms can be a separate item. It is easier at review because the caseworker makes the decisions rather than creditors.

What does your IVA say about how much you have to pay across? You can spend your share on whatever you want.

You can ask your IP if you can keep some of the rest of it to make up the difference. Don't know if they will agree or not, you can but ask.

If you ask in advance your IP may allow the overtime to be retained. It depends on the terms and what if any discretion he/she has.

Uniforms are very expensvie I agree and most schools have badges which are required to be bought at specific places. Do talk to your IP and I hope you get the help required. x
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

We're with payplan and asked if we could use the overtime money to go towards our 2 sons uniforms and was told no as we had to take it from out £70 a month clothing allowance . :( I hope you get a more positive response x

Hope you can get something sorted! There are lots of ways this cost can be accommodated - keeping all your OT, deferring a month's payment or even a 15% reduction for the next couple of months would help x

I think the information you get can sometimes depend on who you talk to! If in doubt, I ask for the decision to be referred to my IP.
