Almost finished purchasing my daughter's school uniform (move up to High School). Cost so far is £150 (includes a blazar reduced to £6 from Debenhams). Still to get her shoes and trainers/hockey boots. Then I have to get a business suit (6th form) which will equate to 1 suit and a spare pair of trousers plus shoes and shirts. Fortunately my middle son just needs new trousers. Total spend will be around £500 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!![:0] To top it all - both sons have birthdays this month. Thank god for last months bonus[:p]

Thank the lord my kids only need 'normal' stuff, my daughter is at secondary school but they don't require blazers or anything with logo's on so I can pick up her uniform relatively cheaply

Don't be afraid to ask your IP for a little help with regard to kitting out the kids for school uniforms. The meagre CCCS clothing and school allowances definately do not provide adequately for this, and your children should not have to suffer. Good to see that you have a bonus which managed to cover some of the expense.

It's a hard time of year I know. My eldest is about to go up to High School, and the costs of everything is unbelievable. Blazer, rugby shirt and PE shirt all with logo's etc. Costs a fortune.
Hopefully have it covered, but you may be getting an e-mail Mel if our contingency runs out.

well, Footiemad. It was either that or the mines. My grandfather was aminer, but I thought my son should aim a little higher !!!

My son is at Primary school and his jumpers are with logos and cost £16 each!! I need 2. The tie is £5 alone. Without trousers, shirts, school coat. And walking past the shoe shop window he picked £38 shoes with a toy in the heel! I'm hoping Granny will pay for these. I have £0 left for a week.

What stupid prices uniforms are these days! Why on earth do you need a logo? A plain sweatshirt or jumper in the schools colours should be sufficient.

Must admit that I wouldn't be buying shoes with a toy in the heel - my daughter used to have to put up with sensible shoes for school!

Luckily "our" new school won't allow shoes with gimmicks ( much as the lad wants some) -- plain black and that's it -- found some in Sports Direct for a fiver a pair.
