I look dreadful in one! A hat to protect my head from the sun is one thing, but I certainly wouldn't wear anything else.

Same here! I own 2 hats, one white broderie anglaise one for summer and a grey one with ear flaps for winter and I look ridiculous in both of them!

I forgot! I do own a winter hat with the earflaps but when it's freezing cold I really don't care what I look like!!!

Just when I thought I'd bottomed out the school uniform - I now have to get football boots, shin pads and a swimming suit for the showers - marvellous!!!!

My parents would never have been able to afford to send me to school if I had needed all this stuff. I doubt very much this will be an end to it.

We had to wear these horrible navy blue shorts (that looked like knichers) for PE. They had to worn over your own knickers and were really itchy!! I remember getting detention around May time for wearing a shirt that I had worn since the September - barking mad!!!

What is a swimming suit for the showers? #A normal costume or trunks? We never had anything like that - you showered in your birthday suit and that was it!!

Likewise -- and when the master thought it was time to get out he just used to turn the hot water off --- that made us move !!

Yep - a swim suit to wear in the showers - not really sure what all that is about. Can't see the point as you can't wash your body! Maybe the school don't do CRBs on their staff or something.
Ours was the same Foggy - if you were lucky enough to get in the shower in the first place - only 3 for the whole lot of us!!

I really am gobsmacked at that!!! My school had a fair amount of showers and it was a case of - get on with it! No covering up I'm afraid.

Our showers were actually a "corridor" lined with shower heads ( about 10 each side). You went in at one end walked through and came out squeaky clean at the other.

We were posh then! We had proper showers within the changing rooms.

CLEMMYS IN 57 KING STREET, DARLASTON

Overpriced and Very Poor Service.

Could not get my son's uniform after waiting 25min. I had to come back twice, first time they got the wrong size. Second they gave me a girls blazer instead.

NEVER AGAIN !

Almost finished purchasing my daughter's school uniform (move up to High School). Cost so far is £150 (includes a blazar reduced to £6 from Debenhams). Still to get her shoes and trainers/hockey boots. Then I have to get a business suit (6th form) which will equate to 1 suit and a spare pair of trousers plus shoes and shirts. Fortunately my middle son just needs new trousers. Total spend will be around £500 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!![:0] To top it all - both sons have birthdays this month. Thank god for last months bonus[:p]

I managed to get 7 pairs of socks, shoes, 5 polo shirts (75p each) and 2 pairs of trousers for 24.50 at tesco as they were giving a fiver off anything over 25 quid !!!!!
I always buy the cheaper polo shirts as they are still quite decent quality and my son gets them so filthy I cant get them clean!!!
I have lost count how many I buy throughout the year!!!
Luckily his junior school dont insist on having their emblem on the kids uniforms, I am dreading the bill though when he goes to seniors in 2 years time!!!
