I was walking behind some students going to the Grammar School the other day and they all looked lovely down to the label still on the sole of their shoes, did make me smile as I was walking behind them. Bless em. x

It always makes me smile to see kids in uniform these days - shirts worn outside trousers and/or skirts, extremely short skirts on some of the girls, all sorts of colours and styles for hair.

I know I'm going back a bit but it would never have been allowed when I was at school. The deputy headmistress would measure the length of the skirts!!!!

Here in our sleepy town it's still like that Jan, very strict on uniform. My daughter's school were not allowed to be seen in town eating if they had lunch leave (in uniform) and I took her in Aldi once after school and she'd loosened her tie and all of a sudden started to smarten up, she'd seen a teacher! I said but you're in my time now but apparently if they were wearing the uniform they abided by the rules. Hasn't done her any harm. x

My daughter was fairly scruffy! Even if we sent her out looking smart she wouldn't end the day like it!

She had a school bus home and then changed straightaway so no worries with any teachers seeing her.

None of the schools by me operate a strict procedure as far as I am aware.
