We had been paying in from 2009, then last year I suffered a back injury as such we could no longer make payments. We were given a 6 month payment break, then it became clear that I wasn't returning to work anytime soon. My daughter gifted us £1500 to make a full & final settlement, which was accept...

I can't believe it, from a creditors meeting on the 12th March, I received our completion certificate dated 23rd March. Thats got to be a record. Huge thanks to Liz Pywowarczuk at Liberta Financial, can't recommend highly enough. But what do we do now?? Are we completely free now, is that it? I can'...

Thank you Melanie. I will speak to my IP about this and hope there is a good outcome, although not overly confident. I had hoped my injury would allow me to get back to work, but it just seems to be getting worse than better. Anyway will no doubt be back on the forum when the payment break is up. It...

Hi, I have been on this forum a few times over the last couple of years, and at this present time my husband and I are in a 6 month payment break. I have been off work due to injury since March, as such just had a creditors meeting where they have agreed for a 6 month payment break. The payment brea...

So sorry to hear your news. Just to add to Lem & Kat's comments regarding the NHS. I am one of the ambulance staff who regularly have patient's sat on our stretchers in hospital corridors simply because there are not enough beds in the hospital. The A&E is like a bottle neck, once there is no moveme...

Wouldn't that be great haha. Many thanks for all your advice and will keep you updated. I think my case worker and Supervisor are very fair, and will do all they can to help me. At least I don't feel so alone. This website has been invaluable for me. I may not go on it for months at a time, but have...

oh right, many thanks harpic, I didn't know you could do this. If that is the case, then why is this not being done, instead of cutting down all our essential living costs and making it very difficult if not impossible to live each month?

Also just to clarify in the new I&E instead of allowing £350 for food & household goods as previously, we have now put in £280. We have got rid of the cable package, and just paying minimum internet and telephone. No dentist, eyecare or haircuts. No clothing. And mortgage just interest only, whereas...

Hi Michael, perhaps I am being a little dumb, do you mean that what we have paid in already, that the creditors would accept this, and any PPI they may be able to recoup? Or do you mean what we have paid in already, as well asking relatives for 6K?

Hi to Melanie and everyone else who have given me invaluable advice. Thought I would update you with how things are going. I took everyone's advice and contacted my IP. I spoke to my new case manager, who was absolutely great. Anyway she gave us a payment break, asked me to put together a new I&E, a...

Thanks Melanie. Ouch, chiro three times a week, bet that hurts. My husband tried chiro years ago, didn't do him any good, but then his was a prolapsed disc. Both of us have back issues, mine comes from many years in my line of work, I think my back has finally given up the ghost. Liz is off at the m...

Thanks Mel and everyone. I have never had a problem with Liz and always found her very helpful, but as a Supervisor surely she has a duty to the creditors too, and my worry is that if my back injury is long term we will have no choice but to go into bankruptcy which we desperately don't want to do. ...
