Thank you everyone for taking this as it was meant. I cannot understand why someone who successfully completes an IVA would be penalised for it. I'm especially peeved as I had no assets at the time I took mine out. Many people would have over-egged their outgoings and paid a fraction of what I paid ...

BTW - please don't read anything into my post other than the wish to start a discussion.

Ok, thanks again guys. But surely this begs the question 'what's the point of a credit report?' If it's there purely to help lenders decide the level of risk someone represents as a borrower, then fair enough, they should be able to ask for any information to make what they see as an informed judgem...

Ok, thanks guys. Seems like it's pointless saying that it only stays on your credit file for 6 years in that case, almost like I've been missold an IVA as a solution - could have gone down the bankruptcy route far easier now I know this. Is there a wider conversation to be had regarding unfair pract...

Hi Everyone, I recently finished my IVA. I satisfied it in full and it no longer appears at all on my credit file through Equifax. My question is, is a mortgage broker allowed to ask me if I've ever had an IVA and, if they can, am I allowed to say no, now that it doesn't appear on my credit report? ...

Hi Michael, thank you for your reply. Does anyone know what have the issues been? Would any of them prevent DFD from keeping me informed or from doing their job in chasing the PPI that they were desperate to initiate to start with? I'm angry about this because the whole point of the F&F from my poin...

Thanks for your replies guys. I'll wait for my case supervisor at DFD to make their suggestion. I really wanted to get a steer as to whether or not this proposal was reasonable so I knew how to deal with it once it was made formally.

Thanks again

Andy

Hi, I'm 2.5 years into my IVA. When I took it out in Jan 08, I was making £315pm payments. I changed jobs in Jun 08 and increased my payments to £532 due to increased income. Now I've moved out of my parents and rent a flat 45 miles closer to my place of work. I phoned DFD to sort out my new payment...

I forgot to say, shouldn't the IVA supervisor check on this sort of thing at the review? Or is this sort of thing indicative of the way DFD handle their cases?

Just had my original IVA proposal documents through the post along with the Standing Order Mandate to the increased value of £1029. In these documents there is a section in the Modifications: 107. Increase in Contributions. .... Where net income has increased (including any routine overtime) the Deb...

Hi John, I understand what you are saying on this, and to an extent I agree. The thing is economics still applies. If I put (shed loads) extra effort into my work, I want to see a reward to that. If I don't get a reward, why bother? The normal caveats apply to this, I respect the IVA and want to pay...

That was quick! I haven't checked the proposal, I tried a while ago, but couldn't find it anywhere. I'll try again tonight, but I've asked DFD to send me a copy of the proposal on my file. Does it need to be specific? Does it need to have the words "any increase in 'basic' wages" to justify taking a...

Hello I'm really struggling here. I've just had my 1st annual pay review with Debt Free Direct (formerly Clear Start) - my IVA Supervisor is Richard Savage). It was due in February I think, but there's been a lot of to-ing and fro-ing until I got a phone call today. Basically I changed jobs last yea...
